The story of The clever merchant and his donkey
القصــــــــــــــة:
It is said that there was a vegetable seller who had a donkey. Every day, he used his donkey to carry bags of vegetables to the market. One day, the seller had to cross a small river to get to the market. However, the donkey suddenly slipped and fell into the water, and all the vegetables fell out. The bags became very light, which made the donkey happy.
زمان يا ما كان، كان فيه بياع خضار عنده حمار، كل يوم كان بيستعين بيه عشان يشيل أكياس الخضار ويوديها السوق.
وفي يوم من الأيام، البياع اضطر يعدي نهر صغير عشان يوصل السوق، وفجأة الحمار اتزحلق ووقع في الماية، وكل الخضار وقع منه، والأكياس بقت خفيفة خالص. الحمار فرح ساعتها.
From that day on, the donkey started repeating the trick every day. The seller discovered his donkey’s trick, so he decided to teach the donkey a hard lesson. The next day, he filled the bags with cotton and put them on the donkey’s back.
ومن اليوم ده، الحمار بقى كل يوم بيعيد نفس الخدعة. البياع اكتشف الحيلة دي، وقرر إنه يعلم حماره درس قاسي. تاني يوم، البياع ملأ الأكياس قطن، وحطها على ضهر الحمار.
This time the donkey did the same trick and fell into the water, but unlike the previous times, the weight of the cotton increased many times and the donkey had a hard time getting out of the water. So he learned his lesson and the seller was happy.
وفي المرة دي، الحمار عمل نفس الخدعة، ووقع في الماية، بس على عكس المرات اللي فاتت، القطن تقل أوي، والحمار لقى صعوبة كبيرة إنه يطلع من الماية. وقتها، فهم الدرس، والبياع فرح.
The moral here is that tricks don’t always work, and luck won’t always be on your side! Beware of deception, for there is nothing worse than deception and the sins it brings upon you and others!
والعبرة هنا أن الحيلة لا تنجح في كل مرة ،ولن يكون الحظ حليفا لك في كل مرة!
وإياك والخداع، فلا خصلة أسوأ من الخداع وما يعود عليك وعلى غيرك من آثام بفعله!
